Over the past couple of years the Hip-Hop landscape has encountered a seismic shift in which names from the past no longer carry any bearing whatsoever in the minds of the consumer. Hip-Hop has become dominated by personalities such as Kanye West, Gucci Mane and Drake, but amongst it all there has been a constant, and that man is Jay-Z. Jay-Z has maintained an important position in hip-hop over the last few years, and with his money it also seems to be that he's been strongarming certain competition completely out of business. Cam'Ron's been relatively ghost since his spat with Jay-Z, Chris Bown's career might be in hiding after his Rihanna run in, and most importantly Dame Dash has been quiet, and you know something's wrong if that's the case. Okay, I can't lie...I have been very much neglecting my blog but it has been for good reason...We did 3 shows at CMJ in New york city that went really well and we have now embarked on our tour with Warren G and UNI. Funny enough, right before we left for tour the homie Curt@!n$ (twitter name: dopeboyc) asked if he could join the tour. I told him that it wouldn't be glamorous in our 15 passenger van, that we didnt have any money to pay him for any dates and that he would have to contribute to gas money and hotel rooms. Frankly, he just didnt give a fuck....so now he is our other opener on the tour. (Click for More)
Kobe Bryant and Nubeo have collaborated to create a Black Mamba inspired timepiece. I'm not the biggest Kobe fan but the motherfcker sure puts in work on the court... about the same amount of work and attention to detail as Nubeo put into this watch. Only 810 pieces were created and the watch retails for $20,900.

Remember the KIDZ in the NO post from a while back? It featured Knoxville riding through New Orleans to get a swisher.. well here's an extension of the Kidz in the Hall trip to New Orleans. Rhapsody is doing a new viral video series called Rockstar's Guide To the Galaxy and featured NO's own The Knux and they just so happened to be filming when The Kidz were there for a show. Watch as the Knux show Rhapsody around and as Naledge gets a haircut. You also catch a glimpse of some footage from their show at Howlin Wolf later that night with the Kidz in the Hall. Look out for the Knux, they are definitely a group to be reckoned with.
As any real man of leisure should, I subscribe to the Robb Report...and I recently heard news about the world's oldest rum and I had to try it... Mount Gay 1703 Old Cask Selection ($100) is called "the most elegant rum ever produced by this Barbados distillery.," According to the Robb Report website, rums on Barbados are located at the extreme western edge of the Atlantic, evaporate at an accelerated rate of 6 percent a year (compared to single-malt scotch, which loses just 2 percent annually). That being said, it is easy to see why extra-aged rums are scarce. By the end of three decades, most of the rum in a barrel will be an endangered species. I say why not indulge in a rum that is once in a lifetime... Check it out (www.mountgay.com)
Contrary to popular belief in my city, I haven't fallen off of the face of the earth. In fact, I'd go so far as to say I have fallen back on the face of it by coming out to New York and tidying up some business. During the completion of the last Kidz in the Hall album, I spent almost 4 months living in New York in order to prepare for the release, do press and make appearances. Long story short, I feel that that this time spent immensely helped the visibility of our group and built better musical chemistry in the studio... (click for more)
Are you constantly seeing stories about the RECESSION on TV? Reading about it in the paper? Hearing about it in RAP MUSIC? Wait... what? I thought hip-hop was all about money, cash, hoes. Well now a days the first two seem to be hard to come by as rappers have fallen on hard times, even Method Man (who's stared in films) is having problems paying his taxes. Slim Thug was on the Daily Show last night and gave a heartfelt interview on the topic of the recession and how its affected hip-hop, and I am here to bring it to you.
Naledge celebrated his 26th birthday September 10th at the NV Penthouse in true playboy fashion. The whole Brainiac family along with many others were in attendance as the party raged and seven bottles of Goose were easily disposed of before the NV staff shut down early and forced the party into the streets. Here's some photos of what went down at the party. (Click for more)
