JC Poppe: "Trampin'" featuring Naledge

Naledge

I'm not familiar with JC Poppe, but apparently he had a smooth beat and some feature ducketts lying around to pick up a verse from Naledge Born.  They go "Trampin'" together in this new one.  Grab it below.

Naledge: "Made You Look"/"Take Off" Freestyles

Naledge

Ain't no rest for the wicked, or for Naledge Born.  Right after releasing an album-esque Mixtape, and completing work on a new Kidz In The Hall album, Mr. Go Ill continues his rap exercises with two new freestyles.  Naledge brings it over Nas' "Made You Look", and yes, I'm going to admit that I don't know the actual name of that other joint (so why don't you kill me)...Haha...Anyway, both are below.

Naldege: "Touch The Sky"/DJ Booth Interview

DJ Z hit me this dope interview with Naledge yesterday in which Mr. Go ILL discusses his new solo project, The Chicago Picasso.  I had the pleasure to help put the project together with Timbuck2 and Mick Boogie.  Naledge talked about how we all worked together.  He said:

"For real, RTC acted very much as an in-house A&R; he spent a lot of time in the studio, listening to the record’s flow, and placin’ the drops that Tim did.  So, the idea was to recreate Timbuck2’s radio show, GO-ILL Radio, but do it in the studio, so it’s kind of a serious radio version on what he does on GCI.  So, if people listening to the CD are like, “Well, I never heard this on GCI,” it’s cause you never did; we just recorded it!  [laughs] ‘Cause we’re cursin’, and there’s all type of profanity.  [laughs]  He couldn’t do that on GCI."

Picnic Tyme: The BTD Remixes

BTD Cover

Picnic did a lot of work on my mixtape....and he's a super talented dude that is slept on...In his latest venture, he remixed the works of BTD, a group with a lasting legacy in Dallas/Fort Worth.

"The music's so good it inspired me to take on this project and add my own touch to an already great product. The songs are more electro/pop, which people aren't really used to hearing from me, so I thought it'd be fun to to tackle something fresh."

Naledge: "It Is What It Is Part 1"

"Starstruck" Video

Naledge

Matt Metoyer made a cool visual for starstruck that i happened to find on youtube today...check it out....Chicago Picasso June 30th!

Naledge: "U Oughta Know"

Naledge

There really is no story to the song... I mean it's old...It's definitely from the Rawkus days.  We just knew we couldn't clear the sample, so it never was really considered a real option...At the time it was recorded, the sample thing and speeding up vocals to sound like chipmunks was pretty innovative....lol...This cat BIRD! who was an intern at Sony gave the beat to John Monopoly while we were in a meeting in NYC...He in turn gave it to me....I always liked the song so I figured why not let people hear it...This was going to be on Chicago Picasso, but the same problem came up with regards to the sample.  This was also one of RTC's favorites from the Picasso project.

Kidz In The Hall x Charging Forward

Naledge

My homie Greg Camarillo is a wide receiver for the Miami Dolphins and he has a foundation called Charging Forward that encourages city children to gain self-esteem through mentorship and the life skills gained through playing team sports.  As a treat for some of the students at Vanguard Middle School in Compton, CA (where his brother and fellow Penn grad Jeff is a teacher), we spoke and performed for the children.  Here are the pics... for more information click here.
